THE FINALE

I never really thought about blogging ever in my life until it was brought up as an assignment for my English class.  At first I thought  I was going to hate the idea as I have never been a big fan of expressing my thoughts and opinions.  I guess you can say that it showed because after my first blog I pretty much went absent from the blogging world.  I couldn't really get into it and maybe I never would have if my teacher had not kept mentioning it in class.  I realized that I had to complete this blog even though at the time it was against my will.  I tried to talk about my college experience as I thought that would be something interesting and relatable  to not only my classmates but other college students as well.  At first I was having a hard time finding topics that I thought would work but I just went with my gut and slowly but surely started putting blogs together.
I would spontaneously think of a blog idea and right it down whenever I had the chance but I never really started getting into blogging until later on in the process.  I actually started enjoying to blog down my ideas as my page views started increasing.  I finally started to feel that maybe people actually liked my ideas and blogs.  This allowed me to finally start becoming more confident relinquishing my thoughts to the public.  It felt good to let out how I feel and give people my own opinions and advice that had helped me and I thought could help them. I felt that I had found my audience of college students and that my blogs were interesting to this group.  I would try to think of ideas all the time now during class, or while I was eating lunch.  The idea of blogging sort of consumed me which allowed me to really enjoy it.
My main regret blogging would have to be starting to get into so late.  I guess that it is better to start later than never.  This process has really helped me to improve my writing on a whole other level as well.  I can now spew out my thoughts on to paper which really helps me to get things out that are on my mind.  This has been one of the biggest changes in my writing because I have never been one to open up my feelings and thoughts into writing.  This was a huge opportunity for me to do so and I have never been more grateful for an English assignment in my life.  I fee like I have been able to maybe help students with my blogs which has made me feel great.  I try and stay positive which I think has reflected off onto my blogs.  I felt it easier and easier as time went on to come up with ideas and felt more confident with each blog.  I tried to incorporate pictures and websites as much as possible to spice up my blogs as well.  I haven't decided yet but I think I might keep my blog for the longevity and continue to blog even after this assignment.  I have found this blog assignment to be really helpful to me as a person and as a writer and I hope my blogs have inspired and helped some.  As always Peace and Love and thank you to my audience for being supportive.

Finals Week...

Study, study, study, break for food, study, study, break for food, study, study, Starbucks trip, pull an all-nighter, and then go take a test.. Yup, that right there just about sums up what it is like for about the average person during finals week...Well that might be slightly exaggerated but you get the point..Finals week is the worst time of the semester because the week consists of non stop studying when all you can think about is break..Ya that sucks right?  Indeed it does..Everyone is tired and miserable and you probably think about what your going to do over break more than you actually study but that is how it goes..It is so hard to focus on finals after a long grueling semester, especially after Thanksgiving break which is such a tease so close to Christmas break..Just try your best to push through it and focus for the final stretch of the semester..You can do it!!! Good luck everyone!! And as always peace and love...  Below is the library website to help you out..

My Semester In A Nutshell Part 2

As the the semester has gone I have been to multiple parties from small apartment ones to abnormally large ragers..I think that it is safe to say that FSU is one of the craziest parties school in the nation..I have boat loads of fun whether it be going to the bars, clubs or house parties..FSU has a party scene for everyone and even a scene for people who don't like to party..That is one thing I love about FSU, is that my first semester was filled with plenty of good memories and good people that I will have around forever..I cannot imagine going to another school after coming here..Even my classes and professors have been outstanding and I have truly learned a lot academically...This first semester has been my first and "hopefully" not my last....I am jk I will be here next semester and hopefully for another four years to say the least..I only hope to build myself as a person within the next semester as I may or may not potentially join Greek Life..Decisions, decisions still lie  ahead, but in the mean time I am going to join every breathing moment I have at FSU and make the most of my time here..Cherish college everyone because not everyone has the opportunity to do so but luckily for some we do and should be thankful for it..As always peace and love everyone...

My First Semester In A Nutshell Part 1..

My first semester of college is almost over..I honestly cannot believe how fast time flies..It seems like yesterday I was moving into my dorm in August nervous as ever about college but now I am here, three days away from the end of the semester.. This experience has been unforgettable coming from Pittsburgh all the way down to Tallahassee but I have loved every moment of it..I have had a chance to meet new people all the time I have been here and my friend group has changed several times but I must say for the better..It has been tough though being away from my parents all of the time but I have really learned to grow up and become dependent of myself...The first couple of weeks I was a little homesick I must say but as time went on I learned how to handle it..Talking to my parents regularly really has been the best thing because it has always been so reassuring that they have been there for me.. I love them dearly and this process would not have been possible without there support...The first semester has helped me to grow not only as a student but as a person as well...  As always peace and love everyone..Below is a video of Jimmy Tatro about college freshman, he is hilarious if you have not heard of him before..

Celebrating Your Birthday at FSU

So today is my birthday everyone..It has been fun filled with studying and studying and studying..I know right so exciting not really haha..I did go out last night however and I had a blast..Water after water until I couldn't drink anymore at all ;).. I think most people will get my pun there but realistically I honestly had a really good time with all my friends.. I am not really sure if jumping in the fountain was only for your 21st birthday or for any of them but I was forced in regardless.. It was pretty cold I must say but I was a trooper and even went to Denny's after.. I must say I had an awesome time spending my 19th birthday at FSU and I hope its not the last..Just everyone have a blast on your birthday and cause Tally has a lot to offer..And as always peace and love everyone... GO NOLES

Keeping Your Mind Clear For School

School stresses you out to the max alone without other factors adding more fuel to the fire.  It truly is hard to keep your mind clear during school because whenever you seem to do work everything starts flowing through your mind.  This situation or that one, family, friends, anything you can imagine starts worrying you adding to your already nerve racking mood.  Keeping focus on school is practically a job in itself...at least that is the case for me.. How can one sit down and focus on one task when there mind is racing with a million other thoughts...I am still searching for the answer as everyone else is..Most of us are probably in the same boat which makes you feel a little better about yourself so to say..I for one am still searching for that balance between life and school..I know that probably makes no sense but what does now a days?  Every day seems the same and life just continues to go on and on...thoughts racing and times a wasting so I just like everyone else is trying to find there place in life..School is hopefully the start to a promising future if I can hopefully stay focused...Good Luck everyone..If you ever feel like your minds racing go for a walk, read a book, something that will calm you and remember you are not alone..

Week Before Finals Week

The week before finals week is like no other week anyone has ever experienced..It drags on and on with countless hours of work and studying..I feel as if I am going to turn into an exam myself by the end of the week.  The stress mounts up and Christmas break is on the horizon..THEEE absolute hardest thing to do is stay focused and don't let your mind roam into break..It is probably the biggest death trap in preparation before finals week besides, stress, anxiety, sleeplessness and hunger.. But seriously this week seems practically hellish with a paper, and an exam due before finals even start..My mind keeps racing and I do not know if I can pull it off but I am definitely gonna try my best to...Good Luck to everyone on their finals and keep your eye on the prize..good grades..Peace out folks...

Your College Football Team...

A lot of major state universities are really big on football..FSU for example has enormous tailgates and thousands of fans who support the team.. College Football is almost like religion or a holiday once Saturday rolls around..Unfortunately for FSU the voters and BCS hates us as we are going to play Northern Illinois, no that is not a typo  I said Northern Illinois in the Orange Bowl..While one may think that Orange Bowl is a big deal, I am sorry to say that even if we win that it will not feel like a righteous victory..No offense to NIU but you guys play in the MAC, which sucks, a lot...Regardless teams such as the Gaytors..I mean Gators are playing Louisville LOL.. and Notre Dame and Alabama will clash in the National Championship game, college football means a lot to not only the fans but to the school in general..This bowl season may not be the best but I can promise you that everyone will be repping their school to the death...GO NOLES!!

Freshman Fifteen

"Freshman Fifteen"  the scary phrase that gets everyone worried coming in to college.  Staying fit and exercising on  a regular basis is a lot harder I personally feel like now in college.  We have buffet food options practically all hours of the day and school takes up most of are time.  Partying and drinking does not help either as that puts on weight as well but unfortunately our figure can change very rapidly while we are in college.  It is all about self discipline and time management to able to stay fit and happy but you have to do it the healthiest way possible.  With two exercising facilities on campus FSU clearly promotes fitness and hopes that everyone can take advantage of the facilities provided.  Do not get down if you feel like your figure has changed since you have been here because in all reality practically everybody's has.. Just try and exercise as much as possible and eat lean and healthy foods whenever they are readily available.. I try my best to skip those super late night snacks such as chips and cookies because your body does not process them as well that late and while you are sleeping..Do not let the phrase scare you and make you become self conscious.  Eat healthy, exercise but most of all love yourself for who you are regardless of the stupid "freshman fifteen"... peace and love everyone

The Infamous "All-Nighter"

College work can build up pretty fast on you..One week you have nothing the next week you have two papers, two tests and a project. No big deal right the teacher couldn't have spaced it out for you right..Instead they swamp you with work and don't give a shit whether you get it done or not.. I mean you are in college now right, everything is on you as one would say.. Well being on your own and not having mom yelling at you nightly to get your work done is nice and all untillll... Oh ya you wake up one day, look online and realize you have a test and paper due the next day...This fantastic news will probably put you in the situation of pulling an all-nighter...This basically means you will drink a shit ton of coffee, stay up all night and work countless hours on work that you have known about for weeks but decided to just procrastinate...Trust me I have been there before and procrastination sucks and you should not do it..But who am I kidding, were in college, we can handle it now..Yes, yes you can..just grab a tall Starbucks coffee.. your most comfortable clothes... and endlessly stare into your computer screen until the sun comes up..That my friend is the all-nighter that will make and break you all in one night..

College Clubs and Activities

There is an abundance of clubs and activities that all students can get involved with on campus.  From volunteer work to sky diving and beyond.  Oh and did I mention that if none interest you that you can start your own?  Well guess what folks you can..College provides you with plenty of ways to join clubs and activities that interest you and can provide you with ways to meet new people.  While there are plenty of clubs you also have the option of becoming a part of Greek Life.  Joining a sorority or fraternity may or not be something that people are interested in doing...But like all clubs and activities on campus you have to go and see for yourself before you make a decision... Do not wait until your senior year to realize that you wished to join a club or fraternity.. go out and look into it now before its too late!!!

Check out this link for clubs at fsu!!!

College Parties

So everyone always hears about how crazy college parties are and all they have to offer before they even get to college.  The funny thing about the whole thing is they are usually true to tale...However being in the moment is a lot different than hearing about them..Don't be to quick to judge a party but don't be hesitant to leave either..You have to be careful at every party you go to because unfortunately some of the bad stereotypes are true..Now I am not trying to sit here and tell you to not have a good time but just be wary of your surroundings and never go to a party alone..College parties can either be your best memories or your worst nightmares it all depends on how you handle the party at hand!!  Stay Thirsty...I mean safe my friends..

Halloween Week

Halloween Week at college is something that is much different than your typical "one night" trick or treating back in the day..For a week long events compile up from weekend to weekend with different themed parties and events all throughout the week..One thing forsure is that you definitely want to have a costume..You may or may not think that you are to cool to wear a costume now a days but I can assure you that want to wear one..The costumes I have seen this year have varied from two guys painting up all black and dressing like the Williams sisters..Barack Obama and oh yes not to mention a dinosaur..Dressing up is definitely the thing to do in college..do not tell yourself otherwise..you definitely do not want to be that guy or girl who shows up to a costume party wearing regular clothes..Have fun with it and most of all be creativeeeeee!!!!

The Teacher You Cannot Understand

So you walk in to class, sit down and find a seat.  You wait a couple minutes and a professor or teachers assistant walks to the front of the class to begin.  They start talking and you have no idea what they are saying. Shit..you think in the back of your head.  This isn't the teacher, it can not be..I swear to god ill freak out if it is. Well unfortunately for you it probably is.  You got two options, drop the class or become a teacher yourself and learn everything on your own.  More than likely if you are in the class you probably need to take it so ya..you are screwed.  Seems like you just have to hope for the best and sometimes expect the worst with professors now a days...

College Tests...sh!t

College tests are on a whole other level than high school tests....like you actually have to study.   I know I said the word STUDY.  For some of us our high school exams were more of a joke than Savannah State Football but now that we are in college its actually a test.. oh ya and cheating, forget about it in college, you cant sit in the back of the class anymore and look at each others papers and giggle the whole test.  You flat out have to know your shit and study for countless hours to achieve a good grade..Do not plan on just walking in to your test thinking you know everything because I assure you that you will come out feeling like you don't know jack shit..The main point is study and study and study so you can be successful on college exams and tests..

The Rundown

Whts p evedbody...This might be how a typical college kid texts or tweets on a nightly basis after a night on the town..Drinking and partying might be an every night occurrence for some of us and for others it might be something they never do in college..Some of us came to college for the sole purpose of academics which is perfectly okay in my eyes..The only thing I can tell you is that my name is Ricky, an 18 year old freshman who decided to leave his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and come to the wild and wonderful Florida State University..This crazy college town brought me everything I have hoped for so far from schooling to partying..I have decided to create this blog to talk about my life as a college student and all the shit that happens to me, and that probably happens to a vast majority people.. Don't worry though, I am going to make this as humorous and entertaining as possible and I hope you all enjoy!!! Go Noles!!
